The GEF-funded IWRM project is implementing demonstration activities in Vava’u Island Group to enhance the management of groundwater resources. The project is installing sand filter and irrigation sanitation systems for improving the groundwater quality as well as undertaking a groundwater modelling exercise. In addition it has been working on village level IWRM planning. A new component has been established to integrate coastal zone management in Vava’u and expand the concept to Integrated Coastal and Water and Resource Management (ICWRM)
