About

The Department of Climate Change was established to address the impacts of Climate Change on Tonga and provide an effective system to facilitate climate change adaptation and mitigation and the phasing out of ozone depleting substances. The Department of Climate Change is headed by the Director Lu’isa Tu’i’afitu Malolo, and falls under the MEIDECC ministry.  Seven divisions have been established in the Department.

Mission: To develop a resilient Tonga through an inclusive, participatory approach that is based on good governance, builds knowledgeable, proactive communities and support a strong, sustainable development pathway.

Goal: To achieve the vision of a resilient Tonga by 2035
